Mary Achilles

   
   

Mary Achilles is owner of Achilles Consulting, Mechanicsburg, PA, offering comprehensive services to the criminal justice, government, religious and nonprofit sectors.  With more than 20 years experience, including serving for 10 years as the Pennsylvania’s first Victim Advocate, Mary is a skilled change agent whose record of achievements have earned her state and national recognition.  Her expertise extends to communications and media relations, crisis management, policy and procedure development, creation and implementation of strategic training programs, and consultation on state and information tracking and notification systems. 

 Mary has dedicated her professional career, both as an independent consultant and public servant, to cultivating sweeping responses to the needs and circumstances of abuse and crime victims.  Prior to her gubernatorial appointment as Victim Advocate, Mary was the Director of Victim Services for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and Director of Victim Services for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.  More recently, she was a high-level consultant with Cardinal Justin Regali and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, advising on organizational response to trauma and victimization both internally and externally in response to allegations of clergy sexual misconduct and on behalf of 1.4 million parishioners and 88,000 Catholic School System children within the archdiocese.

Mary Achilles is a recognized expert in victim rights, justice services, community crisis response and organizational response to trauma.  With upwards to 30 years of experience working in service to victims of crime and justice at the local, state and national level Ms. Achilles is a sought after speaker, and presenter.  Speaking at the local, state and national level is familiar for her.  Ms. Achilles' experience is both as a presenter to small groups and goups of upwards to one thousand attendees.  Ms. Achilles has done countless media interviews, television appearances and radios shows.
